The Hakone Turnpike is a mountain road that goes up from Odawara to the Hakone area, more precisely Mount Taikan which has a 360 degree panorama view including Mount Fuji and big parking on the top. This area is a regular meeting place for car enthusiasts.
The Turnpike is a toll-road with very wide lanes and even double lanes at some sections for climbing traffic. The bends of the Turnpike are very large radius, thus this course being a high speed course. That is one of the reasons this is a popular area for owners with high end sportscars.
In spring there a lot of cherry blossom trees covering some of the corners and there are plenty of stopping areas for enjoying the views reaching up to Tokyo.
