Subaru

In the 1950’s Fuji Heavy Industries started to make cars under the name of Subaru. The name Subaru is a reference to the Pleiades star cluster and that is reflected in the logo. The logo has not changed much over the years and is one of the most recognizable logo’s in the industry.

Subaru’s first successful car is the Subaru 360 which was sold from 1958 until 1971. From then on wards, Subaru started to gain more and more fame with its all-wheel drive vehicles and boxer engines. The words that first come to mind when thinking about Subaru are off-road capabilities and durability.

In the mid 90’s Subaru made fame with its rally success due to involvement of STI (Subaru’s motorsport and sports division). Soon after STI started to develop more of regular Subaru’s.

The majority of the vehicles in Subaru’s line-up are sold all over the world. Some unique models and versions for the Japanese market are available and can be found in the links below.
