Places to go as day trips or hiking trips from Tokyo are numerous; Kamakura, Nikko and Kawagoe are popular tourist places which are very beautiful, but also crowded. An interesting and easy accessible place around 2 hours away from Tokyo by train is Mount Nokogiri. It is a great mix of cultural sights, adventurous hiking and magnificent views.
